Quality Rehabilitation

Outpatient Therapy

When your doctor prescribes outpatient therapy, Good Samaritan Rehab is ready to provide physical, occupational, or speech/language therapy. Our staff not only delivers the finest in therapy services – they deliver it with compassion.

Now located in spacious facilities, our rehabilitative services are offered not only for residents of our village, but also to residents anywhere in the region needing short-term therapy or outpatient therapy.

Our director is certified in geriatric rehabilitation, but all ages can be treated at Good Samaritan Rehab. In most cases, patients soon return to their prior levels of functioning. If not, a long-term stay in our Skilled Nursing Center may be the best option.

Short-Term Therapy

When you no longer need hospitalization, but are not fully able to return home, turn to Good Samaritan Village for a short-term stay at our Skilled Nursing Center.

Currently we have a 98%
return to home rate!

All 70 beds are Medicare certified in a safe and secure environment with easy access to the Rehabilitation Center on the same Campus of Care.

During recovery, you will receive the physical, occupational or speech/language therapy prescribed by your doctor from state-licensed therapists, and have access to transportation, social and spiritual activities, the chapel and our onsite chaplain.

Occupational Therapy

  • Hand therapy
  • Learning skills to manage daily living activities
(dressing, eating, personal care, telephone use)
  • Using adaptive equipment after surgery

Occupational therapy is provided to individuals of all ages who need specialized assistance in learning skills to enable them to lead mobile, independent, productive, and satisfying lives through remedial therapeutic activities, environmental modifications, and/or adaptive living techniques.

Many benefit from occupational therapy, including those with chronic conditions such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, or limitations after a stroke, heart attack, or injuries (falls/accidents). When skill and strength cannot be developed or improved, occupational therapy offers creative solutions and alternatives for carrying out daily activities.

Physical Therapy

  • Preventing disability
  • Pain relief
  • Restoring functions following stroke,
    heart attack, or surgery

A vast number of conditions are treated effectively with physical therapy intervention. Physical therapy can often help a person regain physical abilities and mobility after a stroke, heart attack, surgeries such as hip or knee replacement, other orthopaedic surgeries, and injuries.

The principle goals of physical therapy are the prevention of disability, the restoration and/or maintenance of function and mobility, and relief of pain. Physical therapists help to maximize independence and mobility along with ensuring comfort and optimal strength.

Speech & Language Therapy

  • Retraining after stroke
  • Swallowing & eating disorders

Speech and language therapists work with individuals whose ability to communicate is impaired through loss of speech or hearing and with individuals who suffer from swallowing disorders. A comprehensive evaluation is the first step to improving language and speech problems.

Wellness Programs

  • Attend a 6-week “semester”of classes
  • Learn how to remain strong and independent
  • Learn warning signs and when to see your doctor
  • Stretching, range of motion, target cardiac rate,
    Tai Chi, etc.

When a physician refers a patient for physical therapy, the patient may choose the treatment provider. Good Samaritan Rehab services are Medicare certified and reimbursable fully or in some part by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance companies, options under the Federal Employee Health Benefit Programs, Workers’ Compensation programs, private pay, HMOs and PPOs.
