Location

Nestled in the picturesque Ozark Mountains of north central Arkansas between Norfork and Bull Shoals Lakes, Mountain Home is a retirement and recreational paradise with fishing, golf and other outdoor activities close at hand. With a population of 11,012 people, Mountain Home is the largest city in Baxter County. In spite of its small size, Mountain Home is large in cultural, educational, medical, social, recreational, shopping and entertainment opportunities.

Mountain Home is situated between two large lakes, Bull Shoals and Norfork, which attract tourists and fishermen from across the nation. Also nearby are three beautiful rivers: White, North Fork, and Buffalo National River.

Arkansas State University Mountain Home
ASUMH operates from its $13 million campus with four buildings whose architecture is based on old eastern colleges like Yale and Harvard. Sensitive to the needs of senior citizens and retirees, ASUMH offers a Golden Agers Program, providing free tuition to anyone over 60 years of age.
